  
 
The IEC announced that the member countries have accepted a proposal for an international field bus standard IEC 61158, sections 3 to 6 by a large majority. This proposal includes INTERBUS and other leading field bus systems. With the recognition of INTERBUS under DIN 19258 and then under the European standard EN 50253, the acceptance of the international standard means a logical continuation to the story of success. This is obvious in the more than 3.5 million installed devices in more than 330,000 applications as well as in an increasing number of satisfied customers all over the world. The international standardization insures a long-term investment and future safety guaranteed to manufacturers and users. More than 600 member companies in 16 international INTERBUS Clubs on all continents of the world are representative of the innovative power of INTERBUS.
