INTERBUS CLUB ANNOUNCES
RECORD US GROWTH

[Chicago, IL] The INTERBUS CLUB is pleased to announce a 1998 record 36% growth of installed base nodes. Over 700,000 INTERBUS nodes were shipped World Wide in 1998 which increased the installed base from 2.2 million nodes in 1997 to 3.0 million as of March 1998.

The US INTERBUS CLUB also saw record breaking growth and interest in INTERBUS. According to Ken Gardner, Executive Director of the US INTERBUS Club, "We saw a significant increase in US INTERBUS interest in 1998. Membership from product vendors increased by over 45% and total US membership, including INTERBUS service providers, increased by over 60 %. In addition, trade show leads more than doubled over 1997 levels."

Reports from member companies also reflect the growing US interest. "In 1998, we established over 60 new INTERBUS accounts. Our INTERBUS trade show leads were also up over 40% when compared to 1997. The three most consistent comments heard from customers were the fast start -up, the performance INTERBUS provides, and the ease of installation. We believe this is due to the diagnostics and easier software interfacing," says Mark Knebusch, Industry & Systems Marketing Director at Phoenix Contact.

According to Mike Klein, President and CEO of Steeplechase Software, " We are seeing a 60% growth per year in the requests for INTERBUS."

SST also saw increased INTERBUS activity. Steve Blakely, Marketing Manager for SST noted, "We saw increased demand for INTERBUS products in 1998, and expect more of the same in 1999. In fact, we are expanding our INTERBUS product offering to address the increasing demand".

Pam Diaz, QuickPanel Product Manager for Total Control Products said, "We have recently released the INTERBUS driver for our graphic operator interface, and it has already begun opening new markets for us."

The increase in US interest has led to the development of a new US specific product catalog to compliment the International Club's CD offering. The new INTERBUS Club catalog "INTERBUS: The Best of Automation" is now available from the US INTERBUS Club.

The INTERBUS Club has over 500 members worldwide, with more than 2000 products from Club & non-Club members. Gardner states, "We expect 1999 to be a great INTERBUS year for us, especially as 1998 first time users expand into steady state business."
